Attend the Trial

Wiwa v. Royal Dutch Petroleum/Shell Transport and Trading and Wiwa v. Anderson (known collectively as Wiwa v. Shell) are going to trial in the United States District Court of the Southern District of New York, 500 Pearl St. New York, NY. The trial is open to the public.

Update, June 3, 2009: The court hearing scheduled for today, June 3, 2009, has been canceled by Chief Judge Kimba Wood. The court order is here. Please check back for further details on the trial start date.

Update, May 26, 2009: The Wiwa v. Shell trial was originally scheduled to begin on May 27, 2009.  On May 26, Chief Judge Kimba Wood ordered the trial postponed; she did not yet set a new trial date but set a hearing date for June 1, 2009 and stated that the earliest that jury selection will now begin is June 2, 2009.  Please see the order, here.  We will post updates to www.wiwavshell.org as soon as they become available.

Please note that space will be limited.   If you are attending the trial, please do NOT wear or bring any messages of support (signs, t-shirts with slogans, etc.).
